Baltimore Bathroom Remodeling: Maximizing Small Bathroom Space
A little creativity goes a long way when maximizing the space in a small bathroom. Of course, knocking out a wall and adding more floor space is a great idea but many times it’s just not an option. Here are a few ideas for making the best out of what you have in a small bathroom area:
- Since a shower usually takes up less space than a bathtub, use the left over space for additional storage or cabinets. When converting a bathtub to a shower, try to take advantage of the existing plumbing. In fact, you may even want to add more shower heads for a more luxurious shower experience!
- Vanities do often provide additional storage but they do tend to make the bathroom look and feel more crowded. Using a pedestal sink frees up more floor space and gives the room a lighter, less crowded feel. Some pedestal sinks even come with a towel bar circling the base so you eliminate the need to install a towel bar on a nearby wall.
- Don’t forget to take advantage of the vertical space available on the walls in your bathroom. There are many beautiful designs for wall shelving – some have doors that completely enclose the cabinet unit while others have a more open, contemporary look. Additional shelving and baskets provide additional stylish options for storage.
Small bathroom spaces can be challenging. Try some new innovative storage and design options to maximize the visual appearance and the functionality of your space. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
